THE SOLARIS VIRTUAL TOUR: The Exhibition Hall The first place you step into as you enter the Solaris Centre, the exhibition hall showcases various environmental projects developing participation, experience, and awareness of the Fylde coastal environment. Currently the Exhibition Hall hosts information on local recycling along with opportunities to recycle your old batteries and stamps which go towards the RSPB Save the Albatross appeal, a demonstation combined heat and power unit, solar water heating, a display of modern energy saving lamps and ground source heat pumps. There is also access to the Energy Saving Trust website. Lancaster University and Business Suites Our ever changing photo and art exhibitions mean you will always find something new or refreshing in the two business suites located north and south of the central exhibition. You can find further information on current and upcoming exhibitions by clicking HERE. Solaris Meeting Rooms There is a selection of competitively priced meeting rooms available for hire. We can provide IT and audio-visual equipment, and can also meet your catering needs. For more information on room size and prices, click HERE. "Light Bites" Cafe The cafe provides light snacks and refreshment, as well as a breakfast and lunch menu. There is access to the garden, as well as al fresco dining in good weather. Gardens The grounds are being developed as an environmental resource, with a dipping pond, 'root zone', sensory garden, and plants which attract bees, butterflies and other creepy crawlies! Other environmental events as well as community music and drama will be held outside. Please check out events timetable for information on potential outside events. At the southern end of the Solaris Centre facing the gardens there is a 'Changing Places' Toilet. This is different to a standard accessible toilet. It is a room equipped with an adjustable changing bench and a hoist to allow people to use the toilet with assistance or have their continence pads changed. “Blackpool Council work in partnership with Danfo (UK) Ltd to provide a first class Changing Places toilet at the Solaris". There is also a standard Danfo public convenience adjacent to the Changing Places Toilet.
